The Otsego County Community Center and Sportsplex host a number of indoor leagues, and the Alpine Soccer Complex provides fun outdoors.

Aerobics
Step aerobics and pilates are held at the Community Center Mondays and Wednesdays. Step aerobics class meets 5:30-6:25 p.m.; pilates class meets 6:35 p.m.-7:25 p.m. Each class is $30 per six-week session. Contact Tammie Rich at 732-9696 or the Community Center at 732-6521.
Bear basketball
Bear basketball fundamentals for third through sixth-graders is held Saturday mornings at the Community Center. Cost is $10 per six-week session. Call 732-6521.
Gymnastics
A gymnastics session is accepting participants January 2008 at the Community Center. The class runs on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to close. Contact Kari Streelman at 231-582-9787 for prices.
Hockey
The Otsego County Hockey Association holds fall and spring leagues for all ages, with tournaments from January through March at the Sportsplex. For information call Wendy Stefani at 231-437-4009 or visit www.otsegocountyhockey.com. The Gaylord Area Men’s Hockey League, run by area volunteers, is held at the Sportsplex during the fall. Fall, winter and spring sessions are available in 2008. Games are nonchecking and open to players 18 and older. Call the Sportsplex at 731-3546.
Horseshoes
The Gaylord horseshoe league meets during summer through fall at the pits near at the Community Center. Call Frank or Myrna Jasinski at 732-4377.
Open gym (students)
The Community Center has open gym for students on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, 3-5 p.m. There is no charge for students. Call 732-6521.
Open gym (adult)
The Community Center has adult (college-aged and over 18) open gym on Mondays, 9-11 a.m.; Wednesdays, 8-10 a.m. and noon-3 p.m.; and Sundays, 8:30-11 a.m. Men’s basketball leagues begin Jan. 7, 2008 and run for eight weeks. Cost is $350 per team. Call 732-6521.
Open swim/skate
Open swim/skate times are available at the Sportsplex. Cost is $2.50 ($3 for out-of-county residents) for children under 17; $3 for adults ($3.50 for out-of-county residents), $2 for seniors ($2.50 for out-of-county residents); $8.50 per family ($10 for out-of-county residents); and skate rental is $3. Skating

Soccer
The Gaylord Soccer League, affiliated with the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association, organizes soccer for ages 5 through high school. Games are held at the Alpine Soccer Complex on Ohio Street during the fall season from August through October. Registration is in April and at the Sportsplex. Check www.gaylordsoccer.com for registration dates and prices. The spring league for traveling teams is in April through June, with mail-in registration in January. Forms may be downloaded from the above Web site. The Gaylord Soccer League hosts two tournaments annually; June and September.
Swimming
Gaylord Gators, a youth competitive swim club, meet at the Sportsplex, with sessions from October through December, then January though March; call Jennifer Hope, 231-546-4072. Aqua Fit, water exercise for all ages, is held year-round; call the Sportsplex 731-3546. Swim lessons at the Sportsplex, are held year-round, at $50 per child per session in Otsego County and $60 out of county. Save $10 by signing up more than a week early. Kayaking
The Kayak Klub helps fine tune skills from the fall through April 2008 at the Sportsplex. Cost is $9 per visit or use a $35-punch card for five visits. Call 731-3546.
Volleyball

Walking
Keep Movin’ at the Plex, held year-round at the Sportsplex, offers walking incentive for all ages. Participants use the walking track around the ice rink. For more information, call 731-3546.
