The Gaylord/Otsego County Chamber of Commerce promotes the community and represents the interests of more than 600 member businesses, while providing a myriad of benefits to them.
These include: access to BCBSM health insurance, discounts on products and services, a countywide leadership program, referrals and brochure distribution, mailing lists, free Web pages, and special networking events, such as Business After Hours, the golf outing and the annual Business Showcase.
The Chamber, along with the Gaylord Area Convention & Tourism Bureau, also operates the Visitors Information Center at 125 S. Otsego Ave.

The Otsego County Economic Alliance Inc. is the economic development partnership serving Gaylord and Otsego County. Its mission is to facilitate economic growth through a public/private partnership that maintains economic vitality and stimulates economic growth while preserving the quality of life.
The Alliance is a collaborative, community supported, full-service economic development organization. It provides leadership, vision and education; promotes economic development; and provides services and assistance to develop high-wage, high-skill, base industries in the county.
The Alliance provides business expansion and location assistance, including infrastructure development, tax abatements, financing, access to state-level incentives, and location proposals; research and information; export assistance; small business planning assistance and micro-loan financing; and is a liaison to local government.
The Alliance continues to work on the redevelopment of the former Georgia-Pacific plant, which closed in March 2006. A sawmill, a wood pellet operation and potentially a biofuel company is proposed for the site.

From manufacturing and warehousing to wholesale, distribution and industrial services, the Gaylord area has developed a variety of sites to accommodate business growth.
The city of Gaylord completed development of a 240-acre industrial park in 2004. This modern Class-A industrial park, located on Milbocker Road, features Class A road access to both I-75 Gaylord interchanges, municipal water and sewer, underground power, multiple broadband telecommunications options, natural gas, tax incentives, rail access, protective covenants, and M-1 industrial zoning. The park is home to Crossroads Industries and an expanded FedEx ground terminal.
The Gaylord Air Industrial Park currently has only 10 acres available. This 166-acre park, located on Dickerson and Milbocker roads, features Class A road access to both I-75 Gaylord interchanges, municipal water and sewer, underground power, natural gas, multiple broadband telecommunications options, tax incentives and M-1 industrial zoning.
The Gaylord Air Industrial Park is home to a wide variety of business uses, from freight terminals, tool & die shops to oil and gas service companies and other manufacturers.
In Livingston Township, Card Commercial Park, a privately developed business park, has seven available lots totaling about 13 acres. This park, located off of Meecher Road next to the north Gaylord I-75 interchange, features Class-A road access, type II water system, underground power, natural gas, telephone, and B-3 light industrial zoning. The developer offers build-to-suit, lease or own options.
