As the community grows, Otsego Memorial Hospital (OMH) grows as well, providing essential facilities and medical services to meet the demands of a growing population.
In 2007, the expanded and renovated Oncology & Infusion Center opened providing more chairs and space than the previous clinic. The total cost of the renovation project was $360,000. The project is entirely supported by the OMH Foundation, which includes a $25,000 gift from the OMH Auxiliary. Patients in need of oncology and infusion-related therapies can receive treatment in this state-of-the-art building. It also has two private treatment rooms, enclosed by a sliding glass door. The building has dedicated parking and doubles the space of the existing clinic.
OMH is a progressive, fully accredited primary care facility serving Otsego and surrounding counties. Serving more than 2,100 inpatients and more than 85,000 outpatients per year, OMH also employs and affiliates with more than 80 medical practitioners, bringing a broad spectrum of health care services to the communities served.
In 2006, OMH completed an $11 million renovation project, which renovated and expanded outpatient services throughout the hospital. The project also included a new Ambulatory Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Pharmacy and four new surgical procedure rooms to enhance services to patients. Renovated outpatient services departments include Laboratory, Radiology, Rehabilitation Services and Cardiopulmonary, including Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
The two-year renovation project was intended to prepare the organization to service the growing need for outpatient services, and to help fund future renovations to other areas of the hospital over the years to come.
The project was supported by a very successful capital campaign by the OMH Foundation, which raised more than $1.5 million.
In the fall of 2005, a new hospital addition opened as existing interior areas began major renovations. The newly renovated main lobby, as well as an expanded waiting area for laboratory and radiology, opened in the fall of 2005.
