State and Federal Government

Traditionally a Republican stronghold in the state, Otsego County voted for President Bush over Sen. John Kerry, 61 to 38 percent in the 2004 election.
The county has sent a Republican candidate to the state House for more than 30 years.
Otsego County is located in the 105th state House district and the 36th state Senate district. On the national level, Otsego County resides in the 1st Congressional district for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Representative Bart Stupak

Bart Stupak was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992. He is up for re-election in 2008. State Senator Tony Stamas
